Starting a new adventure!
We have some exciting news to officially share!
Danielle is pregnant!!
Cody and I are excited to share that in in January 2023, we will be starting
a new adventure and welcoming a new addition to our family!
The baby will be born in Tokyo, at a near by,
well-known Hospital:
Red Cross Medical Center.
The doctors say everything looks good and that the baby looks energetic and healthy! Other than morning sickness during the first few months, I’ve been feeling really well throughout this whole pregnancy and have been able to stay active, which I’m so thankful for. (Note from Cody: Danielle continued going to the gym with me until just recently, a month before her due date!) I’m also really happy with the hospital I picked here in Tokyo, and all the doctors, midwifes, and staff have been really nice.
It has been really fun to learn more about Japan’s culture and customs throughout this process and learn how Japan and America do things differently. For instance, one fun difference is that after giving birth it’s normal to stay in the hospital for 5-6 days. During that time, you get time to recover, eats lots of yummy food (the hospitals are known for having really good food), have your baby checked regularly, and have lots of midwife support.

A couple months ago, Cody and I went hiking with friends just outside of Tokyo and enjoyed the outdoors and while taking some photos for you all. We wish we could share our joy with you all in person, but hopefully these pictures will help convey some of our excitement.
Boy or Girl?
To make finding out if we are having a boy or girl a little more fun, I surprised Cody by making a dozen cupcakes and filling half of them with colored frosting. He had to eat them to find out the news! 🙂

Baby Registry
Some friends and family have asked us how they can send baby gifts, so I wanted to share our baby registry with you all. To make shipping the easiest for everyone, we decided to use Amazon Japan.
